About Wexford Arts Centre

Based in the historic Cornmarket building Wexford Arts Centre was established in 1974 providing art and entertainment for native and visitor alike ever since, and we are very proud to be the oldest regional arts centre in Ireland.

We host a year-round programme of contemporary art exhibitions offering free admission and free educational talks for the public alongside workshops for all ages from toddlers and school children to adults.

We host vibrant events in theatre, music, comedy, and dance with after-school programmes and provide subsidised rental rates for various clubs in the county, including the Picture House film Club.

Established in 2013 our Living Arts visual arts educational programme operates each year in different schools countywide in association with Wexford County Council providing children with an understanding and appreciation of contemporary visual art.

We provide an Emerging Visual Artist Award biannually in association with Wexford County Council and Arts Council Ireland. The award is aimed at artists who are eager to progress in their professional and creative development but are lacking the necessary experience and resources.

We are proud to be central to the arts and cultural community of Wexford and promote Wexford arts and culture on a local, regional, national and international level.
